Being a mom of three children has its challenges but when all three play a sport parents’ activity levels soar to new heights. Tonya C. knows this all too well. Tonya was recently selected as Central Star Home Health Care’s Employee of the Month because she has scored both the favor of her clients and co-workers.

Tonya has been a State Trained Nursing Assistant (STNA) for twenty years and has been with Central Star Home Health for the last four months. Her first assignment was a true indication of her commitment to the Central Star team. She took on a case that other aides had previously deemed “challenging” yet went to work with a smile on her face each day and quickly won the favor of the family who excitedly called the office to express their pleasure in the aide selection. Like her children are taught on the field, she lives by the mottos “never give up when things get tough”, “hard work will always win” and simply, “have fun”.

The team at Central Star has recognized Tonya’s hard work and dedication not only through her commitment to her clients but also to her co-workers. “She loves helping others”, said Trina Ward, Coordinator at Central Star. “She goes above what is required of her and takes on the extra initiative to get the job done with perfection”, she continued.

Tonya is a true Star and has easily won the favor of her Central Star teammates. Being busy mom and employee is something she loves but when she is not at work or on the soccer field she says she really enjoys “road trips with her daughter”.
